Braised Celery

I bet you didn’t know that celery can be used in more recipes than just salads! When you braise celery, its anise bite is softened and the vegetable becomes a tender side dish to compliment any meal. It is hearty enough to stand up to steak, yet delicate enough to complement a fish or chicken dish.

2 bunches of celery
1 Tbs butter or olive oil

Cut celery into 2-inch chunks. Heat butter/oil in large pan. Add celery, and season with salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes or until slightly browned and soft.
